<br />89 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting August 22, 1983 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 6-17 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO EXTEND BY ONE HOUR THE <br />TIME DURING ylliICH THE SAN MARCOS CEMETERY IS OPEN <br />TO THE PUBLIC AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Kreczmer moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS <br />OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF 10 <br />FEET CROSSING OVER AND A PART OF LOTS 1 THROUGH 8, <br />BLOCK 3 OF THE H. A. NELSON'S FIRST ADDITION TO THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, FOR <br />THE USE AND BENEFIT OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSI- <br />TY, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A <br />GENERAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING SAID TRACT AND DECLAR- <br />ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTIONS 2-82(a) AND 2-83(a) <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE THE <br />FILING DATES FOR FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS OF <br />CITY OFFICIALS AND TO CLARIFY WHICH PERSONS ARE RE- <br />QUIRED TO FILE THE STAT~ENTS DESCRIBED IN SECTION <br />2-83 AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for the adoption of the Ordinance and Ms. Kissler se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider the adoption of a <br />Resolution approving the issuance of bonds by the City of San Marcos <br />Industrial Development Corporation to finance a project for Leggitt <br />Leasing Corporation. Mayor Craddock asked if anyone wished to speak <br />in favor of the Resolution. Jim Thomason of Vinson and Elkins in <br />Austin is the attorney for the issuance of the bonds and said he would <br />answer any questions the Council had and then he introduced Don Leggitt, <br />Jr., who will be the manager of the leasing company. He stated the <br />bonds were in the amount of $950,000 and would be used for equipment <br />and a 22,000 square-foot building. No one else wished to speak in <br />favor or in opposition, so Mayor Craddock closed the public hearing. <br />Mayor Craddock then introduced the adoption of the Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE ISSUANCE <br />OF BONDS BY THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS INDUSTRIAL DEVELOP- <br />MENT CORPORATION TO FINANCE A PROJECT FOR LEGGITT LEAS- <br />ING CORPORATION FOLLOWING A PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
