Factors to be considered as guides <br /> in determining the reasonableness of a fee include the <br /> following: <br /> (1) The time and labor required, the novelty and <br /> difficulty of the questions involved, and the skill <br /> requisite to perform the legal service properly. <br /> ( 2) The likelihood, if apparent to the client, that the <br /> acceptance of the particular employment will <br /> preclude other employment by the Lawyer. <br /> (3) The fee customarily charged in the locality for <br /> similar legal services. <br /> ( 4) The amount involved and the results obtained. <br /> ( 5) The time limitations imposed by the client or by <br /> the circumstances. <br /> ( 6) The nature and length of the professional <br /> relationship with the client. <br /> ( 7) The experience, reputation, and ability of the <br /> lawyer or lawyers performing the services. <br /> ( 8) Whether the fee is fixed or contingent." <br /> Our fees for professional services are charged at hourly <br />rates ranging from $75.00 for junior attorneys to $185.00 for <br />senior attorneys, depending upon experience and special expertise. <br />Services that I perform will be at a rate of $120.00 per hour. <br />The services for our paralegal personnel, who assist our attorneys <br />by performing many technical services under their supervision, <br />are charged at ~55.00 to $65.00 a~ hour. Legal research done by <br />law clerks is charged at $50.00 an hour. It is not the policy of <br />the Firm to charge for secretarial or word processing support <br />unless client or court imposed time constraints necessitate their <br />use at overtime or weekend rates. The rate for this service is <br />$20 per secretarial or word processing hour. <br /> The estimated combined fee of Fred Saffer utility Consultants <br />and Sawtelle, Goode, Davidson & Troilo is $250,000 through the end <br />of the hearing. As you will read in the paragraph below, we have <br />estimated our fee allocation, but if the City of San Marcos <br />desires to consider it as a combined estimate, the combined fee is <br />$250,000. <br /> Our estimated attorney fee costs commencing with the date of <br />this letter through the end of the hearing is $120,000. In the <br />event it becomes necessary to prepare briefs, file exceptions to <br />the proposal for decision, make oral arguments to the Commission <br />or appeal a Final Order of the Commission to the Courts, we would <br />
