<br /> 110 <br /> RESOLUTION 1990- 26R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS / APPOINTING PRESIDING <br /> JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE <br /> JOINT GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE <br /> CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 5, 199Ø7 CHARGING EACH <br /> JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN <br /> HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH <br /> RESPECTIVE PRECINCT 7 APPOINTING A PRESIDING <br /> JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br /> TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br /> STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION <br /> MANAGER 7 APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE <br /> PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br /> STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS, APPROVING THE <br /> APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF <br /> CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT <br /> BY THE ABSENTEE VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN <br /> ASSISTA.NT ABSENTEE VOTING CLERKS, AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, on February 12/ 199Ø, the City Council of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint <br />general election by the City and the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District on May 5, 199Ø, establishing the rate of <br />compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br />tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making <br />provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br />incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Section 6 of that ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of the City, on or before April 2Ø, 199Ø, shall, by resolution <br />duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the <br />election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth <br />in Section 5 thereof, and that ordinance further ordains that it shall <br />be each judge's duty to hold the election in the precincts and that <br />any vacancies occurring after the appointment of the judges may be <br />filled by subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council 7 and, <br /> WHEREAS, Section 17 of that ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a <br />Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation <br />Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting <br />Station Manager; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on February 26, 199Ø, the City Council of the City <br />amended the election ordinance adopted on February 12, 199Ø by adding a <br />measure and proposition for the purpose of submitting to the voters a <br />referendum on adoption of an ordinance designating reinvestment zone <br />number five of the City of San Marcos, Texas and declaring an <br />emergencY7 now/ therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN l'-1ARCOS / <br />TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the persons set forth below are hereby appointed as <br />presiding judges and alternate judges, respectively, to serve in said <br />City's general election on May 5, 199Ø, at the respective polling <br />places for the respective precincts set forth below: <br />Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Precinct Polling Place <br />Rose Brooks Baudelia Arredondo lØ & 13 San Marcos High <br /> School Auditorium <br /> 1/2 mi.
