<br /> 136 <br /> RESOLUTION 199Ø- 32 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ACCEPTING A REFUND OF <br /> EXCESS REVENUE FROM THE HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL <br /> DISTRICT: AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the revenues of the Hays County Appraisal District <br /> (HCAD) from member taxing entities exceeded the amount actually <br /> spent or obligated to be spent by HCAD during its 1989 fi scal <br /> year: and <br /> WHEREAS, the HCAD Board of Directors has requested that each <br /> member taxing entity contribute the pro-rata credit for this <br /> excess which it is due under Section 6.Ø6 of the Texas Code to a <br /> fund for the purchase of computer equipment and an office site: <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos is of the <br /> opinion that any required computer equipment purchases be handled <br /> through HCAD's normal budget processes: and <br /> vlHEREAS, the City Council is also of the opinion that HCAD <br /> should abide by its long-term commitment for the lease of office <br /> space from the City rather than using excess funds from its member <br /> taxing entities to finance a means of abridging that commitment. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the refund credit to the City of San Marcos <br /> from HCAD in the amount of $3,697.19 for fiscal year 1989 is <br /> hereby accepted. <br /> PART 2. That the administration is hereby directed to <br /> deposit this refund credit in the General Fund of the City. <br /> PART 3.
