<br /> 156 <br /> RESOLUTION 199Ø- 37 <br /> - <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING AN ALTERNATE <br /> JUDGE TO SERVE IN THE JOINT GENERAL AND <br /> SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY TO BE HELD ON <br /> MAY 5, 199Ø; CHARGING THE JUDGE WITH THE DUTY <br /> TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN HIS/HER POLLING PLACE <br /> FOR PRECINCT NO. 3Ø, AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, on February 12, 199Ø, the City Council of the City of San <br /> Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint <br /> general election by the City and the San Marcos Consolidated <br /> Independent School District on May 5, 199Ø, establishing the rate of <br /> compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br /> tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making <br /> provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br /> incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Section 6 of that ordinance provides that the City <br /> Council of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint <br /> presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling <br /> places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 5 thereof, and <br /> that ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to <br /> hold the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurring <br /> after the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent <br /> resolution(s) of the City Council; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the person named below is hereby appointed as an <br /> alternate judge to serve in the City's general election on May 5, <br /> 199Ø, at the polling places for the precinct set forth below: <br /> Alternate Judge Precinct Polling Place <br /> Gladys Holtermann 30 Crockett School <br /> 1500 Girard <br /> PART 2. That the judge appointed herein to serve in this <br /> election is hereby charged wi th the duty to hold the election in the <br /> respective polling place for the respective precinct set forth <br /> hereinabove. <br /> PART 3.
