<br /> 73 <br /> RF.~OLTíTION lQ9()- ___62 R <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A <br /> PROPOSED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE PORT OF <br /> CORPUS CHRISTI FOR FOREIGN-TRADE ZONE SUBZONE <br /> AFFILIATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY: AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Port of Corpus Christi Authority of Nueces County, <br /> Texas ("Port") operates Foreign-Trade Zone No. 122 under applicable <br /> federal law: and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas (IICityll) has determined <br /> that it is in the best interest of the San Marcos Community to ask the <br /> Port to provide Foreign-Trade Subzones under the Port's Foreign-Trade <br /> Zone to businesses within San Marcos desiring subzone status: and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Port has determined that it is in its best interest <br /> to assist the City in providing Foreign Trade Subzones in the San <br /> Marcos area because these Subzones can reasonably be expected to <br /> generate revenue and goodwill for the Port; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City finds that the execution of the attached <br /> agreement for Foreign-Trade Zone Subzone Affiliation will bolster the <br /> business c 1 ima te throughout the City for the purpose of creating new <br /> jobs and increasing business activity in the City: now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the terms and conditions of the Foreign-Trade Zone <br /> Affiliation agreement between the City and the Port attached to this <br /> Resolution as Attachment 1 are hereby approved. <br /> PART 2. That the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is hereby <br /> authorized to execute this agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3.
