Ilf;;° Ipiiiir tiiioin and Ilf;;° t inS110in <br />(a) Expiration. A building permit expires if construction, alteration or placement of the structure authorized by the permit <br />has not commenced on the property within 90 days after final approval of the permit. The building permit shall expire <br />within one year of the date of approval if a certificate of occupancy for the structure has not been approved, or if the <br />structure is not intended for human occupation, the construction, alteration or placement of the structure on the <br />property has not been completed, within such period. <br />(b) Extension and Reinstatement. The building official may extend the time for commencing construction, alteration or <br />placement of a structure for a period not to exceed 90 days, and the time for obtaining approval of a certificate of <br />occupancy or completing construction, alternation or placement of the structure for a period of one year, in <br />accordance with Article 3, Division 5 of this Chapter 1. The building official also may reinstate the permit for a one - <br />year period under Article 3, Division 5 of this Chapter 1. <br />San Marcos, Texas, Code of Ordinances Page 116 <br />
