Gilley, City Manager City of San Marcos, Texas June 6, 1990 Page 2 It is our policy in connection with all audit engagements to submit, in addition to our report on the general purpose financial statements, letters to management containing our observations with respect to internal control and operating and accounting procedures which, in our opinion, merit consideration. These letters include recommendations for improvements in observed practices or procedures and are issued after discussion with management of all matters reported upon. In addition to the above audit fees, we have provided the following fee estimates to Mr. William White, Director of Finance for consulting relating to Phase I of the City's fixed asset inventory and accounting system. Based on our discussions with Mr. White, we estimate that such fees will approxi- mate $10,000. Furthermore, we will provide certain specific systems and procedural revi ews as requested by Mr. White, which fees we estimate will approximate $5,000. These fees are based upon the following hourly rates: Partner $ 125 Manager $ 80 Senior $ 55 Again, should changes in the scope of work or other situations arise which would cause us to exceed these estimates, we would discuss such matters with the City before incurring additional time. * * * * * If this letter sets forth arrangements satisfactory with you, please sign and return to us the second copy of this letter.
