<br /> 55 <br /> RESOLUTION 1990- 89 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE <br /> CAPITAL AREA PLANNING COUNCIL FOR DESIGNATION OF THE <br /> CITY AS A GROWTH CENTER FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANT <br /> PROGRAMS OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION OF <br /> THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Capital Area Planning Council ("CAPCO") has submitted <br /> a Regional Overall Economic Development Plan to the Economic <br /> Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce including <br /> a recommendation that the City of San Marcos and its two-mile <br /> extraterritorial jurisdiction be designated as a growth center for the <br /> purpose of grant programs of the Economic Development Administration; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its support for the <br /> growth center designation recommended by CAPCO; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the City of San Marcos supports the growth center <br /> designation recommended by CAPCO of the City and its two-mile <br /> extraterritorial jurisdiction for the purpose of grant programs of the <br /> Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of <br /> Commerce. <br /> PART 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect <br /> from and after this passage. <br /> ADOPTED this 30th day of f¡A(~ <br /> RIS <br /> ;;;~~ t:ff ~ <br /> Janis K.
