<br /> SAN MARCOS CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU <br /> Procedures for Special Events or Arts Funding Assistance <br /> Procedures: <br /> --------- <br /> 1. Contact the Convention and Visitors Bureau Coordinator, at <br /> the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce office, 202 N. C. M. Allen <br /> Parkway to acquire the Application for Tourism Funds required of <br /> each applicant. (Supplemental information is allowed and <br /> encouraged.) <br /> 2. Complete the application and submit to the CVB Coordinator, <br /> for review. Existing events must submit the last two years <br /> financial statements. The application must be submitted 30 days <br /> prior to the scheduled CVB monthly meeting in order for all CVB <br /> members to adequately review an application before the meeting. <br /> The CVE meets monthly. Call the Chamber of Commerce for it's <br /> meeting schedule. <br /> 3. Applicants are not required to attend the CVE meeting at <br /> which their application is reviewed; however, if applicants <br /> chnose to attend and present the application, they will be <br /> allowed five (5) minutes to do so. CVE members may ask questions <br /> of the applicant concerning the application. <br /> 4. Applicants will be notified personally by the CVE <br /> Coordinator, and in writing, of the results of the CVE's review. <br /> If the request is approved by the CVB, upon completion of the <br /> event a written report detailing the expenditures of the tourism <br /> funds, must be submitted to the CVE in compliance with the <br /> Funding Guidelines attached. <br /> 5. If upon completion of the CVE" s review a request is denied, <br /> the applicant is allowed to place the item on the subsequent <br /> meeting agenda if further clarification is required.
