<br /> 213 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 18 <br /> MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS <br /> (5) The fountain shall be as called for on the drawings <br /> and shall be as manufactured by Haws. The fountain shall be <br /> securely anchored as recommended by the manufacturer. The fountain <br /> shall be factory modified for a "jugfiller spout" as shown on the <br /> drawings. <br /> (6) The "jugfiller spout" shall be a Chicago Faucet Co. <br /> single sink fitting No. 324 with vandal-proof free turning <br /> insulated push button, or approved equal and anchored securely to <br /> the concrete fountain pedestal as shown on the drawings. <br /> ( 7) The appearance of the finished product is important. <br /> The Contractor shall be careful with all operations to prevent <br /> defects. A cracked or spalled concrete fountain shall be rejected <br /> .as will any other defect which deters from the finished product. <br /> (8) A stop and waste valve shall be located approximately <br /> 2' from fountain as shown on the drawings, in a traffic bearing <br /> plastic or concrete valve box with a lockable cover. <br /> b. Measurement and Payment <br /> (1) DRINKING FOUNTAIN will be measured for payment as a <br /> complete unit up to and including the stop and waste valve and <br /> valve box. <br /> (2) No separate measurement will be made for excavation <br /> and backfill, concrete slab and footing, fountain, "jugfiller" <br /> faucet, hardware, stop and waste valve, valve box, connection to <br /> potable water systems, and french drain, but all such items shall <br /> be considered subsidiary work pertaining to the item bid. <br /> (3) Potable water piping will be measured for payment <br /> under another section of these specifications. <br /> (4) DRINKING FOUNTAIN acceptably completed and measured <br /> as provided above, will be paid for at the unit price bid per each <br /> unit for DRINKING FOUNTAIN, which price shall be full compensation <br /> for furnishing all materials equipment, tools, labor, and <br /> incidentals necessary to complete the work. <br /> 18-2 <br />
