<:) 0- 0- 17 - - ,;J) -- ORDINANCE 1990- 71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-126 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO REQUIRE THE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN TO MEET AT LEAST NINE TIMES PER YEAR RATHER THAN MONTHLY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 2-126 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances provides that the Commission for Women meet not less than once a month; and, \'¡¡HEREAS, the Commission for viJome n has recommended that this requirement be changed to provide for Commission meetings to be held at least nine (9) times per year; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That the second sentence of Section 2-126 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: The commission shall meet at least nine ( 9) times each year. SECTION 2. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall remain in effect as if the unconstitutional or invalid portion had not been adopted. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten ( 10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
