<br /> STATE OF TEXAS <br /> ADOPT-A STREET PROGRAM ADOPTION <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS: <br /> The City of San Marcos, hereinafter called the "City," and <br /> hereinafter called the <br /> "Group," recognize the need and the desirability of litter-free <br /> highways and are entering this Agreement to permit the Group to <br /> contribute toward the effort of maintaining litter-free highways. <br /> A. By signature below, the Group, both jointly and severally as to <br /> each of its participants, acknowledges the hazardous nature of the <br /> work and agrees, both jointly and severally, to the following terms <br /> and conditions: <br /> 1. Participants in the Group agree to obey and abide by all <br /> laws and regulations relating to safety and such terms <br /> and conditions as may be required by the City Department <br /> of Public Works ("Department") for special conditions on <br /> a particular adopted section. <br /> 2. When participants are 15 years of age or younger, the <br /> Group shall furnish adequate supervision by one or more <br /> adults. <br /> 3. Each group shall conduct at least two safety meetings per <br /> year. Participants must attend a safety meeting <br /> conducted by the Group before participating in a cleanup. <br /> 4. Groups shall adopt a section of roadway that is at least <br /> one-half (1/2) mile long. <br /> 5. Groups shall be required to adopt for a minimum period of <br /> two years. <br /> 6. The Group shall pick up litter a minimum of four times a <br /> year and at such additional times as required by the <br /> Department. <br />
