<br />(e) The city shall treat information on applications <br />for permits for alarm systems designed to detect criminal <br />activity as confidential. <br />(f) Any permit issued pursuant to this Article shall be <br />applicable only to the permit holder and is not <br />transferable. <br />(g) Each permit issued to an alarm system user shall be <br />valid for one year unless one of the following occurs: <br /> (I) Control of the protected property is <br /> transferred from the permit holder. <br /> (2) The permit holder voluntarily discontinues <br /> services provided by a particular alarm <br /> protective service, or disconnects the alarm <br /> system. <br /> (3) The permit is revoked by the City pursuant to <br /> Section 16-66. <br />(h) The annual fee for a permit issued pursuant to this <br />article shall be $10.00. No permit shall be issued or <br />renewed if required service fees assessed under section <br />16-65 remain unpaid. <br />Sec. 16-65. Service fee for City reS'Donses to excessive <br /> false alarms. <br />(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsections (b) or <br />(c), the city will assess a service fee to the permit <br />holder in accordance with the following schedule for each <br />response by the city to the permit holder's premises for <br />a false alarm in excess of six (6) false alarms within <br />any twelve (12) month period: <br /> (1) 7-9 false alarms: $30.00 each <br /> (2) 10-12 false alarms: $60.00 each <br /> (3) over 12 false alarms: $100.00 each <br />(b) If a person applies for a permit before a néw alarm <br />system is put in operation, no service fee will be <br />assessed during the first 45 days after issuance of a <br />permit and any activation of an alarm system which causes <br />a response by the Police or Fire Departments during that <br />period will not be counted in assessing a service fee. <br />(c) A permit holder may present evidence to the Police <br />or Fire Chief that the activation of an alarm system was <br />not a false alarm. If the Police or Fire Chief <br />determines that the activation was not a false alarm, any <br />response by the Police or Fire Department to such <br />activation will not be included in determining the <br />service fee set out above. The burden shall be on the <br />permit holder to prove that the activation of the alarm <br />system was not a false alarm. <br />Sec. 16-66. Revocation of ~ermits. <br /> <br />(a) The Chief of Police may revoke an alarm system <br />permit if he determines that: <br /> (1) There is a false statement of a material <br /> matter on the application for a permit; <br /> (2) The permit holder has violated any provision <br /> of this Article; <br />
