LIFELONG LEARNING PROJECT
AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION
between the
SAN MARCOS PUBLIC LIBRARY
and the
TEN COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION CO-OP
The San Marcos Public Library and the Ten County Adult Education
Co-Op are committed to providing adults with educational services
which will enable them to lead fuller, more productive lives. The
two organizations, therefore, agree to continue their cooperative
efforts to provide English as a second language, GED and literacy
tutoring and related services to adults in the San Marcos area.
The organizations seek continued funding for their tutoring
program, which is known as the Lifelong Learning Project, through
an LSCA, Title I, grant. The grant will be administered by the San
Marcos Public Library, acting on behalf of the City of San Marcos.
Should the San Marcos Public Library be successful in obtaining the
LSCA, Title I, grant the Ten County Adult Education Co-Op agrees
to:
1) staff the library with a teacher paid with Co-Op funds
for at least twenty hours per week for forty five weeks
during FY 1989-90;
2) provide the library with all statistics and other data
necessary to meet grant reporting requirements;
3) assist the library in the selection of materials for the
Lifelong Learning Collection and Job Information
Center; and
4) assist the library in publicizing the services and
materials available through the Lifelong Learning Project.
In turn, the San Marcos Public Library agrees to:
1) administer the LSCA, Title I, grant and file all reports
which the grant requires;
2) supervise the Project Coordinator, teacher and volunteer
tutors who will work with the Lifelong Learning Project;
3) provide facilities for the Co-Op teacher and volunteer
tutors to use in connection with the project's adult
tutoring program; and
4) provide materials, equipment and publicity for the
projec~.
This agreement will only go into effect if LSCA, Title I, funding
is awarded to the San Marcos Public Library, The agreement will
begin the effective date of funding and will last one last for the
duration of the funding period.
