89 RESOLUTION 1989-25R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 6, 1989 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER, APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY SAID TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 13, 1989, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint general election by said City and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District on May 6, 1989, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during said election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, WHEREAS, Section 4 of said ordinance provides that the City Council of said City, on or before April 21, 1989, shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in said election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and said ordinance further ordains that it shall be each such judge's duty to hold the election in said prec incts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of said judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of said City Council; and, WHEREAS, Section 15 of said ordinance provides that the City Council of said City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station Manager; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the persons set forth hereinbelow are hereby appointed as presiding judges and alternate judges, respectively, to serve in said City's general election on May 6, 1989, at the respective polling places for the respective precincts set forth hereinbelow: Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Precinct Polling Place Rose Brooks Baudelia Arredondo 13 San Marcos High School Auditorium 1/2 mi.
