CITY PUBLIC SERVICE <br /> BOARD, TI-iE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO WATER ~'¡ORKS BOARD <br /> OF TRUSTì<'....ES, HAYS COUNTY, 'mE GUADALUPE-BIANCO AND <br /> SAN llliTONIO RIVER AUTHORITIES, AND 'mE EDWAHDS <br /> UNDERGROUND ~11l\ TER DISTRICT 'ill UNDERTAKE A <br /> COOPERATIVE EFFORT 'ill DEVELOP A PROORAM 'ill <br /> PROPERLY MAJ.~~GE '!HE ~I1l\TERS OF '!HE ED~,oJA,.tIDS <br /> ACQUIFER; rW<ING PROVISIONS FOR Ol'HER LOCAL <br /> GOVERNHENT AGEOCIES 'ID PARTICIPATE; AND ALLOCATING <br /> $50,000.00 ÞS 'IRE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO'S SHARE OF <br /> EXPENSES IN CONNEcrION THEREWITH. <br /> * * * * * <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Antonio and other regional entities have begun <br />developing legislation for groundwater management based on the principles of the <br />Regional Water Resources Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the public entities involved are establishing a funding mechanism to <br />provide full support and operation during the upcoming legislative session of an <br />information and education effort to inform the public, including elected <br />officals, of regional water planning management methods and needs; and <br />WHEREAS, an inter local cooperation agreement has been proposed to achieve this <br />goal and provide funding for this undertaking; NOW THEREFORE: <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CIT'l C()UæIL OF THE CIT'l OF SAN AN'IONIO: <br />SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute an Interlocal <br />Cooperation A:3reement between the Cities of San Antonio, New Braunfels, San <br />Marcos, the City Public Service Board, the ~"¡ater W:>rks Board of Trustees, Hays <br />County, and the Guadalupe-Blanco and San Antonio River Authorities, to undertake <br />an effort to develop a program for managing waters of the Edwards Aquifer and <br />promoting legislative and regulatory management tools to assist in carrying out <br />the Regional Water Resources Plan. The agreement shall be in substantially the <br />same form and content as that attached hereto and incorporated herein as <br />Attachment I. <br />SECTION 2. Fund No. 26-013150 entitled Edwards Groundwater Management <br />Legislation Fund is designated to receive contributions from the E:1wards <br />entities and to account for expenditures thereof in the legislative program <br />planned to attain legislation in the 1939 legislative session. <br />
