<br /> -6- <br />such particular annexed area may petition the City to disannex <br />such particular annexed area as set out in the Act. All procedures <br />pertaining to such proposed disannexations shall be as granted <br />by the Act. <br />Sec. 3.06. Vacancies. <br />A special election shall be called within ten (10) days from <br />the date the vacancy occurs for the purpose of electing the <br />successor or successors to the office or offices vacated. The <br />election shall be held on the next election date authorized <br />by state law provided that date is at least thirty (30) days <br />from the date the election is called. If such an election is <br />to be held within one hundred and twenty (l20) days of the next <br />regular election, the vacancy shall be filled at the next <br />regular election. <br />Sec. 6.05. Council consideration and submission to voters. <br />When the Council receives an authorized initiative petition <br />certified by the city Secretary to be sufficient, the Council <br />shall either: <br />(a) Pass the initiated ordinance without amendment within <br /> thirty (30) days after the date of the certification <br /> to the Council; or <br />(b) Submit said initiated. ordinance without amendments to <br /> a vote of the qualified voters of the City at a regular <br /> or special election to be held on the date next au- <br /> thorized by state law for municipal elections which <br /> is at least thirty (30) days after the date on which <br /> the Council acts; or <br />(c) At such election submit to a vote of the qualified <br /> voters of the City said initiated ordinance with- <br /> out amendment, and an alternative ordinance on the <br /> same subject proposed by the Council; the voters being <br /> given the opportunity to accept either or reject both. <br /> When the Council receives an authorized referendum <br /> petition, certified by the City Secretary to be sufficient <br /> the Council shall reconsider the referendum ordinance, <br /> and if upon such reconsideration such ordinance is not <br /> repealed within thirty (30) days, it shall be submitted <br /> to the qualified voters of the City at a regular or special <br /> election to be held on the date next authorized by state <br /> law for municipal elections which is at least thirty (30) <br /> days from the last day for Council action. Special elec- <br /> tions on initiated or referred ordinances shall not be <br /> held more frequently than once each six ( 6) months, and <br /> no ordinance on the same subject as an initiated ordinance <br /> which has been defeated or on the same subject as a re- <br /> ferred ordinance which has been approved at any election <br /> may be initiated by the voters within two (2) years from <br /> the date of such election. <br />
