162 RESOLUTION 1989-38R A RF.~OLUTI<)N OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING A TEAM READINESS PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY EMPLOYEES TO COOPERATE IN SAID PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Team Readiness Program is a community venture that prepares the San Marcos Community for growth, development and prosperity; and, WHEREAS, the Team Readiness Program is based upon the support and involvement of elected and appointed municipal officials, City employees, Community leaders and citizens of San Marcos; and, WHEREAS, San Marcos' certification as a Team Readiness city represents a joint effort between the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of San Marcos to foster economic development through cooperation; and, WHEREAS, San Marcos' certification as a Team Ready City demonstrates that San Marcos has met criteria established by the Lower Colorado's Economic Development Program and these criteria include becoming trained in the basic skills of economic development that are needed to attract and retain industries in San Marcos; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the San Marcos City Council endorses and supports the Team Readiness Program and authorizes the City Manager and City employees to cooperate in this program, and further urges the citizens of San Marcos to support this joint venture between our community and LCRA to ensure our certification as a Team Ready City.
