<br /> 162 <br /> RESOLUTION 1989-38R <br /> A RF.~OLUTI<)N OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING A TEAM <br /> READINESS PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND <br /> THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY, AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER AND CITY EMPLOYEES TO COOPERATE IN SAID <br /> PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Team Readiness Program is a community venture that <br />prepares the San Marcos Community for growth, development and <br />prosperity; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Team Readiness Program is based upon the support and <br />involvement of elected and appointed municipal officials, City <br />employees, Community leaders and citizens of San Marcos; and, <br /> WHEREAS, San Marcos' certification as a Team Readiness city <br />represents a joint effort between the Lower Colorado River Authority <br />and the City of San Marcos to foster economic development through <br />cooperation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, San Marcos' certification as a Team Ready City <br />demonstrates that San Marcos has met criteria established by the Lower <br />Colorado's Economic Development Program and these criteria include <br />becoming trained in the basic skills of economic development that are <br />needed to attract and retain industries in San Marcos; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the San Marcos City Council endorses and supports <br />the Team Readiness Program and authorizes the City Manager and City <br />employees to cooperate in this program, and further urges the citizens <br />of San Marcos to support this joint venture between our community and <br />LCRA to ensure our certification as a Team Ready City. <br /> PART 3.
