Morris
Mayor, City of San Marcos
630 East Hopkins Street
San Marcos, Texas 78666
Dear Mayor Morris:
This is to confirm that our company will build its new manufacturing facility in
the City of San Marcos at the IH35 East frontage road one mile north of Exit 208,
contingent upon the City's providing us with adequate water and sewer facilities
to this site. This construction will be financed by BMC Real Estate, Inc. in the
amount of $7,000,000.00, to be made available on November 1, 1989, and to be
contingent on the City's providing us with needed utility services. It is our
understanding that the City will apply for a Texas Capital Fund grant from Commerce.
As this is the City's only current option for providing us with these needed utility
services, if the grant is not awarded, we will be forced to consider alternate
locations that can provide adequate public services to our development.
If the City is funded, we will create the jobs on Attachment A within a 24 month
period. Of the 65 jobs, 33 will be the number created at or below the low to
moderate income definition for the county of Hays.
In addition, our company is an equal opportunity employer as the attached policy
statement indicates. We have included wit~in our hiring plan the practice of
notifying the local Texas Employment Commission office to obtain referrals of
unemployed applicants. We will also agree to set hiring goals targeting the same
percentage of minorities currently employed by the city of San Marcos.
Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.
Sincerely,
/-¡
.~ L (
",,_...,"'-~ -", .. !. --,
, James W. Davi dson
President
