<br /> 23 <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> AN AGREEMENT FOR TRANSPORTATION <br /> AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> HAYS COUNTY <br /> SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, a municipal corporation, <br />Hays County, Texas, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, <br />and Southwest Texas State University, an agency of the State of <br />Texas, are committed to the development of a comprehensive <br />transportation program which will benefit the greater San Marcos <br />area, Hays County, and the University; and, <br />WHEREAS, this program will provide for several transportation <br />strategies including a San Marcos Regional Mobility Plan, Hays <br />County Thoroughfare Plan, and University Shuttle Transit Plan <br />which will assist in leveraging federal and state resources to <br />accomplish transportation improvements; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City, County, and University, desire to jointly <br />participate in helping to finance a comprehensive transportation <br />program; and, <br />WHEREAS, the parties desire that the City shall act as the <br />coordinator of project work to be accomplished: now, therefore, <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> This is an agreement entered into by and amongst the City of <br />San Marcos, Texas, a municipal corporation (" CITY" ), Hays County, <br />Texas, a political subdivision of the State of Texas ("COUNTY"), <br />and Southwest Texas State University, an agency of the State of <br />Texas ("UNIVERSITY") for the purpose of securing joint support in <br />the form of cash and "in-kind" resources to accomplish the <br />objectives of this agreement. This agreement is being executed to <br />secure joint local support which will be utilized in concept with <br />funding from a federal grant provided by the Urban Mass <br />Transportation Administration to support the development of <br />transportation and economic development initiatives in Texas. <br />
