<br />= CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THAT

<br /> ORDINANCE ADOPTED AUGUST 29, 1988 WHICH
<br /> SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE
<br /> EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH, ADMINISTRATIVE
<br /> UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID
<br /> CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
<br /> OCTOBER 1, 1988 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER
<br /> 30, 1989, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE
<br /> VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH
<br /> ESTIMATE, TO REVISE SAID ESTIMATES AND TO
<br /> REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS, ADOPTING SAID
<br /> REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES, AND DECLARING AN
<br /> EMERGENCY.
<br /> WHEREAS, after publication of notice on July 17, 1988, the
<br /> City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, held a public
<br /> hearing on August 1, 1988, on the budget proposed by the City
<br /> Manager for said City for the fiscal year beginning October 1,
<br /> 1988: and,
<br /> WHEREAS, at said public hearing all interested persons were
<br /> given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item or the
<br /> amount of any item therein contained: and,
<br /> \vHEREAS, after said public hearing, the City Council of the
<br /> City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted the budget for said City for
<br /> the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1988 and ending on September
<br /> 30, 1989, on August 29, 1988: and,
<br /> ~vHEREAS, said budget set forth itemized estimates of the
<br /> expense of conducting the San Marcos municipal government for said
<br /> fiscal year and appropriated money for the various funds and
<br /> purposes of such estimate: and,
<br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8.16 of the City Charter
<br /> of the City of San Marcos, Texas, said City Council declares that
<br /> a public necessity exists which requires amendment of said budget:
<br /> now, therefore,
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br /> TEXAS:
<br /> SECTION L That that Ordinance adopted August 29, 1988,
<br /> which set forth an itemized estimate of the expense of conducting
<br /> each administrative unit of the municipal government of said City
<br /> for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1988 and ending on
<br /> September 30, 1989, and appropriated money for the various funds
<br /> and purposes of such estimate, be, and the same is hereby amended
<br /> as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and
<br /> incorporated herein, in words and figures as shown therein, for
<br /> all intents and purposes.
<br /> SECTION 2. That the said revisions and reappropriations
<br /> which shall be the amended budget for the City of San Marcos,
<br /> Texas, for the fiscal year 1988-89 beginning October 1, 1988 and
<br /> ending on September 30, 1989, be, and the same are hereby,
<br /> approved and adopted.
<br /> SECTION 3. That the importance of this Ordinance creates
<br /> an emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the
<br /> prov isions of the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be
<br /> presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance sha 11
<br /> become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following
<br /> the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions
<br /> are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance sha 11 take effect and be
<br /> in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its
<br /> publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as
<br /> required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos.
