<br /> 88 <br /> ORDINANCE 1989-33 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 21-37 OF DIVISION 5, <br /> SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT SERVICES--FIELD TRAINING OFFICERS <br /> OF ORDINANCE 1988-90 WHICH SPECIFIED THE NUMBER OF <br /> OFFICERS ELIGIBLE AND NUMBER OF YEARS OF SERVICE <br /> REQUIRED WITH THE SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE <br /> PERFORMING AS A SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT FIELD TRAINING <br /> OFFICER; TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF OFFICERS ALLOWED <br /> TO SERVE IN SAID CAPACITY FROMTHREE TO SIX, TO CHANGE <br /> YEARS OF SERVICE REQUIRED FROM TWO TO ONE AND DECLARING <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That Section 21-37 of Division 5 Special Assignment <br />Services--Field Training Officers established in City Council Ordinance <br />1988-90 duly adopted on November 28, 1988, be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> DIVISION 5. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT SERVICES--FIELD <br /> TRAINING OFFICERS <br /> . .. <br /> Sec. 21-37. Assignments, number and qualifications of <br /> employees, hours of service and supervision. <br /> (a) Up to a maximum of six (6) police officers holding the <br /> rank of police officer, corporal or sergeant, and meeting <br /> the qualifications set forth below, and being selected and <br /> assigned by the Chief of Police may perform special <br /> assignment services under this division as special <br /> assignment field training officers or as a special <br /> assignment field training officer coordinator: <br /> (1) Minimum of one (1) year of service with the San Marcos <br /> Police Department; <br /> . .. <br /> PART 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) <br />days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a <br />newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter <br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading June 26, 1989. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading July 10, 1989. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED JUIY~ VU" ~ <br /> Ka -M.
