39 Special Meeting January 30, 1984 Page 2 BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE SIX; A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE SEVEN; AND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY; MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION AND OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO THE PUR- POSES OF THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mayor Craddock moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CALLING A BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY; MAKING PROVISION FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION; CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT AND RELATED TO THE PURPOSE THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Farr seconded the motion. Mayor Craddock was interested in the nam- ing of certain streets. Mr. Rick Fisher indicated it was not customary procedure to name the streets in the Ordinance but that the Council could state their intentions publicly. It was the consensus of the Council to follow the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Committee if at all possible. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1982-41 WHICH DE- TERMINED APPROPRIATIONS FOR REVENUE SHARING ENTITLE- MENT NO. 14: AMENDING ORDINANCE 1983-45 ADOPTED SEPTEM- BER 12, 1983 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1983, AND ENDING ON SEPTEM- BER 30, 1984, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE; TO REVISE SAID ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS; ADOPTING SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES AND DECLARING AN EFFECT- IVE DATE. Mayor Craddock moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration award of bid of the Elec- tronic Distance Measuring System. Mr. Farr moved to award bid to Miller Blue Print in the amount of $4,725.00 and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval and authorization of an expenditure of $400.00 for the provision of water to persons temporarily housed at the old Hays Memorial Hospital. Mr. Brown moved to table this matter and Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
