<br /> 51 <br />Regular Meeting February 13, 1984 Page 5 <br />Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, ABANDONING AND VACATING A PORTION OF <br /> AN ALLEY AND A PORTION OF NEVADA STREET IN THE Z. <br /> WILLIAMSON THIRD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE <br /> A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED TO JOHN J. STOKES; REFLECTING <br /> PAYMENT OF THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF SIX HUNDRED THIRTY <br /> DOLLARS ($630.00) BY JOHN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. ONE, HAYS <br /> COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING A PART OF 219.07 ACRES DESCRIBED <br /> IN A DEED FROM W. C. CARSON TO SAN MARCOS BUSINESS PARK <br /> BY DEED DATED JUNE 3, 1983 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 394, <br /> PAGE 895, HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, A/K/A 2005 HUNTER <br /> ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO <br /> "c" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT). <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final <br />reading and Mr. Brown seconded the motion. Joe Verdoorn reviewed <br />with Council the plans for the shopping center at this location. <br />He said they wanted to put in a grocery store (comparable to Safeway <br />and HEB), a soft good stores (such as Beallls), a hardware store and <br />a theater. Gene Chavez said the above types of stores are what they <br />have planned for this development and they won't actually start con- <br />struction for another year. Council Member Moore felt the Council <br />does not get enough information before they are requested to rezone <br />property. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />
