<br /> 13 <br /> RESOLUTION 1989-l01R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CI'l'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> SAN MARCOS APPROVING THE CREATION OF AN AD HOC <br /> STEERING COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF <br /> ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN <br /> THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, PROVIDING FOR THE <br /> COUNCIL'S APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO SAID <br /> COMMITTEE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas desires to <br />explore the possible establishment of a public transportation system in <br />the City of San Marcos; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of said City recognizes the need to study the <br />feasibility of said transportation system: and <br />\VHEREAS, the City Council realizes the necessity for the involvement of <br />representatives from various segments of the community in this <br />feasibility study; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the creation of an ad hoc steering committee to study the <br />feasibi~ity of establishing a public transportation system in the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby authorized and approved. <br />PART 2. That the City Council shall appoint 14 representatives as <br />follows: one representative from Southwest Texas State University, the <br />City Manager, 2 Council Members (The Council Members will be non-voting <br />members on this Committee.) 1 Chamber of Commerce representative, 1 <br />Hispanic Chamber of Commerce representative, 1 Tourist Development <br />Council representative and 7 Council appointments representing a <br />cross-section of the community. <br />PART 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect <br />immediately from and after its passage. <br /> ADOPTED this the 25 day of September , 1989. <br /> ~~;~ <br /> Mayor <br />;¡~~ <br />Janis K.
