<br />2. An organization or group applying for fu n d s must be <br /> non-profit with the general purpose of service to the community. <br />3. Granted funds may not be used to fu rt her a project or event <br /> that is break-even or profitable or which proceeds are used for <br /> private or personal gain. <br />4. Granted funds are not to be used to finance fund raisers. <br />5. Granted funds may not be used for administrative salaries, <br /> but may be used to pay performers and/or performances. <br />6. Favorable consideration will be given those art projects <br /> that the sponsoring organization provides certain matching funds <br /> to the project. Documentation of matching funds will be required <br /> upon request. <br />7. Long term or continued dependency for financial aid from the <br /> arts funds will be discouraged. <br />8. No art grants will be awarded to a taxing entity or an <br /> affiliate committee or organization of that taxing entity. <br />9. Within 120 days after the project has been conducted a <br /> complete income and expense statement and project summary must be <br /> submitted in writing to the San Marcos Cultural Arts Council by the <br /> representative of the organization that received the funds. <br />1 O. Requests for an art grant or underwriting must be done by <br /> submitting a written application for Arts Funding Request, and <br /> the required accompanying documents. Application blanks are <br /> available from the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce office. <br />1 1. Representatives of the organization/project requesting funds <br /> are required to be present at a meeting of the Convention & <br /> Visitors Bureau to present their request and answer questins <br /> regarding their project. <br />1 2.
