2. An organization or group applying for fu n d s must be non-profit with the general purpose of service to the community. 3. Granted funds may not be used to fu rt her a project or event that is break-even or profitable or which proceeds are used for private or personal gain. 4. Granted funds are not to be used to finance fund raisers. 5. Granted funds may not be used for administrative salaries, but may be used to pay performers and/or performances. 6. Favorable consideration will be given those art projects that the sponsoring organization provides certain matching funds to the project. Documentation of matching funds will be required upon request. 7. Long term or continued dependency for financial aid from the arts funds will be discouraged. 8. No art grants will be awarded to a taxing entity or an affiliate committee or organization of that taxing entity. 9. Within 120 days after the project has been conducted a complete income and expense statement and project summary must be submitted in writing to the San Marcos Cultural Arts Council by the representative of the organization that received the funds. 1 O. Requests for an art grant or underwriting must be done by submitting a written application for Arts Funding Request, and the required accompanying documents. Application blanks are available from the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce office. 1 1. Representatives of the organization/project requesting funds are required to be present at a meeting of the Convention & Visitors Bureau to present their request and answer questins regarding their project. 1 2. A financial income and expense statement of the project for the previous year should accompany each financial request or a projected budget if the project is in its first year.
