<br />shall serve as a notice or writ of election as required by the Texas Election Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 18. Testing of the automatic tabulating equipment shall be performed and notice <br />thereof shall be given in accordance with Subchapter D of Chapter 127 of the Texas Election Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 19. The rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br />Central Counting Station Presiding Judge and Tabulation Supervisor for services rendered during <br />the election is established at $6.00 per hour. <br /> <br />SECTION 20. The additional compensation to be paid judges who deliver returns of the <br />election is established at $25.00. <br /> <br />SECTION 21. If any portion of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent <br />jurisdiction, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. <br /> <br />SECTION 22. The importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative <br />public necessity, so that the provisions of the City Charter that ordinances be presented at three <br />separate Council meetings, and that no ordinance becomes effective until the expiration of ten days <br />after the date of its final passage, are suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full <br />force and effect from and after its adoption and after notice of its adoption is published in a <br />newspaper of general circulation in the City. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 12th day of February, 2001. <br /> <br />~~::: ~ . <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Att~st: <br />/1 ~ ~/ <br />[)Y1J!;/)~ (7)" IJ t ti//LJ.JJV-- <br />JanIS K.
