<br />ordinance, is adopted as the official tabulation of the votes cast at the election, and the tabulation will <br />be filed and recorded in the official records of the City of San Marcos as the official canvass of the <br />election. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The official canvass of the returns of the election reflects the following: <br /> <br />A. That no person received a majority of the votes cast in the election for Mayor of the <br />City of San Marcos: <br /> <br />B. That no person received a majority of the votes cast in the election for City Council <br />Member, Place 3 of the City of San Marcos: <br /> <br />C. That no person received a majority of the votes cast in the election for City Council <br />Member, Place 4 of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />D. The following votes were cast for and against the following numbered propositions: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.1 <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.02(a)(2) of the City Charter to strengthen the residency <br />requirements for members of the city council. <br /> <br />V otes for Proposition No.1: 2325 <br />V otes against Proposition No.1: 487 <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.2 <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.04 of the City Charter to remove per-meeting <br />compensation for city council members, and to provide for the setting of annual <br />expenses of the mayor and each council member in the city's budget process. <br /> <br />Votes for Proposition No.2: 1830 <br />Votes against Proposition No.2: 889 <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.3 <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 4.0 1 (a) of the City Charter to strengthen the residency <br />requirements for the city manager. <br /> <br />Votes for Proposition No.3: 2364 <br />Votes against Proposition No.3: 410 <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.4 <br /> <br />2 <br />
