The General and Special Election of May 15,2004 was duly called, 110tice <br />of the election was given in accordance with law, a11d t11e election was l1eld in accordance wit11 <br />law. <br /> <br />SECTION 2~ The tablllation of votes cast ill t11e General and Special Election l1eld on <br />May 15,2004, a copy ofw11icll is attached to and Inade a part oftllis ordinance,. is adopted as t11e <br />official tabulation of t11e votes cast at the election, and tile tabulation will be filed and recorded in <br />tIle official records of the City of San Marcos as the official canvass oftl1e electiol1. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The official canvass of the returns oft11e election reflects the following: <br /> <br />A. That Susan Narvaiz received a majority of the votes cast in the election for Mayor of the <br />City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />B. That Ed Mihalkanin received a majority of tIle votes cast in the electiol1 for City Council <br />Member, Place 1 of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />c. T11at Gaylord Bose received a majority of t11e votes cast Ï11 t11e electiol1 for City Council <br />Mel11ber, Place 2 of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />D~ That Daniel Guerrero received a n1ajority oftl1e votes cast in tile election for City Council <br />Member, Place 3 of tIle City of San Marcos~ <br /> <br />E~ That tIle followÏ11g Propositiol1S for amendments to the City Cllarter received a majority <br />of the votes cast in the electiol1: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.1 <br /> <br />T11e an1endment of Section 3.02(a)(2) of tl1e City Charter to strengt11en tIle residency <br />requirements for members of the city COU11Cil. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.2 <br /> <br />TIle amendment of Section 3 .17(b) of tile City Charter to clarify the City officials entitled <br />to due process prior to removal from office. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.3 <br /> <br />T11e amendl11ent of Section 5.03 of the City Charter to revise tIle tinle for filing of city <br />COUI1Cil candidate applications f01: general electiollS to conform to a c11al1ge ill state law. <br /> <br />2 <br />
