117 ORDINANCE 1989 - 62 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 9 1/2-l(c) OF CHAPTER 9 1/2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO INCREASE SMEU ELECTRIC TARIFFS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 9 1/2-l(c) of Chapter 9 1/2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9 1/2-1. San Marcos Electric Utility Interim Rules and Regulations, Interim Line Extension Policy, and Electric Tariffs. . . . (c) The City of San Marcos Electric Utility Tariffs a.r:e hereby amended by the adoption of San Marcos Electric Utility Tariffs set forth in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes, and these tariffs are hereby adopted and shall remain in full force and effect until amended by ordinance duly passed, approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas. This exhibit shall remain on file in the office of the city secretary of said City. SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of the City Charter requiring that ordinances shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect for all billings made by San Marcos Electric Utility on and after December 1, 1989.
