94 Regular Meeting March 12, 1984 Page 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ESTABLISHING A USER FEE IN THE NATURE OF A LICENSING TAX IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED DOL- LARS ($600.00) PER MONTH FOR THE USE OF STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SAID CITY BY TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, INCORPORATED FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF ITS SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE ON AND OVER SAID STREETS AND HIGH- WAYS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO BILL SAID TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, INCORPORATED MONTHLY FOR ITS USE OF SAID STREETS AND HIGHWAYS FROM MAY, 1983 TO THE PRESENT AND ~ACH MONTH THEREAFTER FOR AS LONG AS SAID CORPORATION SHALL CONTINUE TO UTILIZE SAID STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SUCH MANNER WITHOUT A FRAN- CHISE AGREEMENT OR UNTIL SAID CITY ADOPTS A COMPRE- HENSIVE ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF BUSES IN SAID CITY, WHICHEVER IS SOONER; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCO S, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE I, SECTION 25-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO PROVIDE THAT THE PUBLIC SQUARE, STREETS, ALLEYS OR SIDEWALKS OF SAID CITY MAY BE USED FOR ANY LAWFUL PURPOSE AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE I, SECTION 29-16 OF SAID CODE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Kreczmer moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. Terry Colley said the proposal was for area farmers to sell their vegetables and fruits during growing season on the San Antonio side of the Courthouse Square, and for the farmers to park their trucks on the Courthouse half of San Antonio Street. There will be an organization formed of farmers, and they will be responsible for clean-up, etc. It will be approximately one month before they are in operation. The Coun- cil voted unanimous approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-120 OF ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" OF CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO DESIGNATE CER- TAIN LANES OF TRAFFIC FOR RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS ONLY; DESIGNATING THREE ADDITIONAL LANES OF TRAFFIC FOR RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS ONLY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
