<br /> 94 <br />Regular Meeting March 12, 1984 Page 3 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS ESTABLISHING A USER FEE IN THE NATURE <br /> OF A LICENSING TAX IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED DOL- <br /> LARS ($600.00) PER MONTH FOR THE USE OF STREETS AND <br /> HIGHWAYS IN SAID CITY BY TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, <br /> INCORPORATED FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF ITS <br /> SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE ON AND OVER SAID STREETS AND HIGH- <br /> WAYS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO BILL <br /> SAID TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, INCORPORATED MONTHLY <br /> FOR ITS USE OF SAID STREETS AND HIGHWAYS FROM MAY, 1983 <br /> TO THE PRESENT AND ~ACH MONTH THEREAFTER FOR AS LONG <br /> AS SAID CORPORATION SHALL CONTINUE TO UTILIZE SAID <br /> STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SUCH MANNER WITHOUT A FRAN- <br /> CHISE AGREEMENT OR UNTIL SAID CITY ADOPTS A COMPRE- <br /> HENSIVE ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF BUSES <br /> IN SAID CITY, WHICHEVER IS SOONER; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCO S, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE I, SECTION <br /> 25-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO PROVIDE <br /> THAT THE PUBLIC SQUARE, STREETS, ALLEYS OR SIDEWALKS <br /> OF SAID CITY MAY BE USED FOR ANY LAWFUL PURPOSE AS <br /> PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE I, SECTION 29-16 OF <br /> SAID CODE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Kreczmer moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. Terry Colley said the proposal <br />was for area farmers to sell their vegetables and fruits during <br />growing season on the San Antonio side of the Courthouse Square, <br />and for the farmers to park their trucks on the Courthouse half <br />of San Antonio Street. There will be an organization formed of <br />farmers, and they will be responsible for clean-up, etc. It will <br />be approximately one month before they are in operation. The Coun- <br />cil voted unanimous approval of the Ordinance on first reading. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-120 OF ARTICLE V <br /> ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" OF CHAPTER 29 OF <br /> THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO DESIGNATE CER- <br /> TAIN LANES OF TRAFFIC FOR RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS ONLY; <br /> DESIGNATING THREE ADDITIONAL LANES OF TRAFFIC FOR <br /> RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS ONLY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br />Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br />
