<br /> <br />42 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1988-33 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-144 OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO LOADING ZONES, <br />CREATING A LOADING ZONE ON LINDSEY STREET AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />illoRDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />SAN <br /> <br />MARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That Section 29-144 of the <br />Ordinances be and it is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />San <br /> <br />Marcos Code of <br /> <br />Sec. 29-144. <br /> <br />Load i ng Zones. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any operator of a vehicle to stop <br />or permit any vehicle in his possession or under his <br />control to be or remain in any loading zone for a period <br />0 f time longer than fi fteen (15) minu tes. Load i ng zones <br />shall be designated by a yellow curb with the word <br />"Loading Zone" stenciled on the curb and/or by a sign or <br />signs designating the area as a loading zone. The <br />provisions of this section shall control over any <br />designation of an area as a no-parking zone. <br /> <br />(b) The provisions of this section shall apply on all days and <br />at all hours, except that the Chief of Police <br />unless otherwise directed by City Council, is <br />authorized to cause to be painted on the curb and/or <br />on a sign or signs designating an area as a loading zone, <br />the words: "Loading Zone. Reserved a.m. (or p.m.) <br />to p.m.(or a.m.)" and insert therein the <br />numbers--indicating the hours so reserved, and <br />then such regulations shall apply to such loading zone <br />during such reserved hours only. <br /> <br />(c) In accordance with the terms of this section and when <br />proper notice is given as provided above, no person shall <br />use the loading zone in violation of this section upon any <br />of the following described streets or parts of streets: <br /> <br />Lindsey Street- at a point 25 feet northeast of the <br />intersection of the projected east curb line of Academy <br />Street and Lindsey Street, extending 35 feet in a <br />northeasterly direction along the south line of Lindsey <br />Stree t. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
