<br /> I 84 <br /> RESOLUTION 1997- 38 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF LOREnA <br /> M. SPENCER AS ASSISTANT CITY SECRETARY FOR PU RPOSES <br /> OF VITAL STATISTICS RECORDS ADMINISTRATION; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> - RECITALS: <br /> i <br /> I <br /> 1. Section 191.022 of the Texas Health and Safety Code designates the City <br /> Secretary as the local registrar of births and deaths of persons occurring within the City. <br /> 2. A need exists for the appointment by the City Secretary of an Assistant City <br /> Secretary to serve as a deputy local registrar for purposes of vital statistics records <br /> administration. .' <br /> 3. The approval of the City Council is necessary for the appointment of <br /> Assistant City Secretaries under City Charter Section 4.02. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the appointment by the City Secretary of Loretta M. Spencer as <br /> Assistant City Secretary to serve as deputy local registrar for purposes of vital statistics <br /> records administration is approved. <br /> PART 2.
