<br /> 90 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-73R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN Ml\RCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING <br /> AND APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE <br /> MAIN STREET PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING AND <br /> APPROVING THE EMPLOYMENT OF A MAIN STREET <br /> PROJECT MANAGER FOR THREE (3) YEARS; <br /> DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO COORDINATE <br /> ALL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES AND AUTHORIZING <br /> SAID CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY <br /> INSTRUMENTS TO EFFECT SAID PARTICIPATION <br /> AND DECLARING h~ EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Center of the Texas <br />Historical Commission has been created to assist small cities <br />to develop a public/private effort to revitalize their "Main <br />Street" areas; and <br /> WHEREAS, five Texas cities will be selected to <br />participate in the project in 1985; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That participation in the 1985 "Main Street" <br />program with the specific goal of revitalizing the central <br />business district within the context of the preservation and <br />rehabilitation of its historic buildings is hereby authorized <br />and approved. <br /> PART 2. That the employment of a Main Street Project <br />Manager for three (3) years, said manager to be provided with <br />travel funds for training from fund s provided by the <br />hotel/motel tax revenue and from private endowments should <br />San Marcos be selected as a "Main Street" program <br />participant, is hereby authorized and approved. <br /> PART 3. That the City Manager is hereby designated to <br />coordinate the program activities and is hereby authorized to <br />execute all necessary instruments to effect said Main Street <br />Program participation. <br /> PART 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force <br />and effect from and after its passage. <br /> ADOPTED this 27 day °L ~~ <br /> Emmie Craddock <br /> Mayor <br />Attest: <br /> s K.
