RESOLUTION 2014 -77R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />TO REQUEST APPROVAL FROM THE TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION <br />FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE HANGAR ACCESS <br />SECURITY FENCE PROJECT AT THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; <br />APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS <br />IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $35,000.00; NAMING THE TEXAS <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS THE CITY'S AGENT FOR THE <br />PURPOSES OF APPLYING FOR, RECEIVING AND DISBURSING ALL FUNDS <br />FOR THESE IMPROVEMENTS AND FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF <br />CONTRACTS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE <br />PROJECT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE <br />CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS <br />APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT <br />AND OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF <br />THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos wishes to make certain improvements to the San Marcos <br />Municipal Airport, the general description of which is the design and construction of the Hangar <br />Access Security Fence (the "Project "). <br />2. The City intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of <br />Transportation (TxDOT ") for this Project. <br />3. The City will be responsible for 10% ($35,000.00) of the total Project costs <br />currently estimated to be $350,000.00 and names TxDOT as its agent for. the purposes of <br />applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the <br />administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of this Project. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council directs the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City of <br />San Marcos, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorization of the City Council, <br />all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas as represented by TxDOT, and such other <br />parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br />PART 2.
