RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -96R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AN AFFORDABLE /WORKFORCE <br />HOUSING POLICY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City's Comprehensive Plan, entitled "Vision San Marcos: a River Runs <br />Through Us," provides the following Neighborhood and Housing Vision Statement: "We <br />envision San Marcos to have a strong, more comprehensive foundation of safe, stable <br />neighborhoods while preserving and protecting the historical, cultural, and natural identities of <br />those neighborhoods." <br />2. The City Council wishes to adopt a policy regarding affordable and workforce <br />housing that defines issues associated with the expansion and preservation of diverse, affordable <br />housing choices in San Marcos and identifies specific goals and strategies to address those issues <br />in a manner consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The attached Affordable /Workforce Housing Policy is hereby approved. <br />PART 2.
