<br />13 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1981-30R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING PAYMENT TO <br />JONES DEMOLITION INC. OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS <br />FOR DEMOLITION OF THE ANNEX TO OLD CITY HALL <br />LOCATED ON GUADALUPE STREET IN SAID CITY; <br />AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF EIGHT THOUSAND SEVEN <br />HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS ($8,730.00) FROM THE <br />CONTINGENCY FUND OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />at its regular meeting of November 24, 1980, accepted the bid <br />of Jones Demolition Inc. of San Antonio, Texas to demolish that <br />structure known as the annex to Old City Hall, said structure <br />located to the rear of Old City Hall on Guadalupe Street in <br />said City, said bid the lowest and best for said project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said bid of Jones Demolition Inc. <br />of eight thousand seven hundred thirty dollars <br /> <br />was in the amount <br />($8,730.00); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said demolition work has been completed; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jack Major, Chief Building Inspector has inspected <br />said demolition work and found it to be satisfactory; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, George W. Boeker, Acting Director of Public Works <br />for the City of San Marcos has recommended payment by the City <br />for said demolition work; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the demolition of the annex to Old City Hall <br />located on Guadalupe Street in the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />by Jones Demolition, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas be, and the <br />same is hereby, accepted as complete pursuant to the terms of <br />the contract between said City and said company entered into <br />on January 7, 1981. <br /> <br />PART 2. That payment to Jones Demolition Inc. <br />Texas in the amount of eight thousand seven hundred <br />($8,730.00) be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br />of San Antonio <br />thirty dollars <br /> <br />PART 3. That an expenditure of eight thousand seven hundred <br />thirty dollars ($8,730.00) from the contingency fund of the City <br />of San Marcos, said expenditure to be payment to Jones Demolition <br />Inc. for demolition work pursuant to said January 7, 1981 contract <br />with the City of San Marcos, be, and the same is hereby, authorized. <br /> <br />PART 4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately <br />from and after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 13th day of <br /> <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br /> <br />City Secretary <br />
