5 HINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OCTOBER 24, 1988 PRESENT: Mayor Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members ** City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Env. and Eng. Hankins Steve Jenkins Dan O'Leary Donna Farley Jack Doughty Rodney Cobb ~1yron Galchutt Also Present: Richard Dotson, Brenda O'Leary, Melissa Millecam, Jack Mutschlechner, Richard Houser, Steve Smith, Larry Brinkmeyer, Gene Bagwell, Ben Ford, Jim Gandy, Nick Caruso, Ramona Brown, Janace Wade, John Wade and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration award of bid on the cemetery maintenance contract. Mr.. Guerra moved to award bid to Maintenance Management (Gene Bagwell) in the amount of $46,050.12 each year for a three-year period (total $138,150.36) with an option to renew a fourth year in the amount of $51,689.40, and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Moore present to vote on this item - 7:35 p.m.). Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Library Board. Mr. Moore indicated he was trying to contact someone for this position, and the Council requested he pursue this appointment. It will be rescheduled November 14, 1988. Mayor Morris introduced for appointments to the Airport appoint Jack Lindstrom, Mr. Cavazos and Mr. Moore moved call the following vote was consideration approval of two Commission. Mr. Guerra moved to Hernandez moved to appoint Robert to appoint Patsy Greiner. On roll recorded: Moore: Hernandez: Morris: Guerra: Kissler: Plummer: Cavazos, Greiner. Cavazos, Lindstrom. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Task Force Relating to Rail Transportation. Mayor Morris moved to appoint Carol Hearn of the Engineering Department and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the City Manager's appointment of a Fire Chief. Mr. Gilley requested the Council's approval of Dan O'Leary as Fire Chief. Mayor Morris moved to approve the City Manager's appointment of Dan O'Leary and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Moore was present at 7:35 p.m. ** Mr. Brown was not present at this meeting.
