RESOLUTION 2015 -89R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE AWARD OF AN ANNUAL <br />CONTRACT TO WACHS WATER SERVICES FOR THE <br />CONTRACTOR'S PROVISION OF LEAK DETECTION SERVICES FOR <br />THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT- WATER/WASTEWATER <br />DIVISION IN THE ESTIMATED ANNUAL AMOUNT OF $32,925.00; <br />RATIFYING THE PURCHASING MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF THE <br />APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS <br />1. On May 15, 2014, as a result of a competitive bid process, the City administratively <br />awarded a contract (the "Contract ") to Wachs Water Services for Leak Detection Services <br />because the annual contract price at that time was estimated to be under $50,000.00. <br />2. The original bid (1FB- 214 -303) provided the City with the option to extend the <br />Contract for three (3) additional one -year terms and the Contract was extended administratively <br />for the first time on April 29, 2015 because the Contract was not expected to exceed $50,000.00. <br />3. However, this extension has caused the annual estimated contract amount to exceed <br />the authorized purchasing threshold of $50,000.00 and the Contract, therefore, requires City <br />Council approval. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The Contract between the City and Wachs Water Services for the Contractor's <br />provision of Leak Detection Services in the estimated annual amount of $32,925.00 is approved. <br />PART 2. The Purchasing Manager's execution of the pertinent purchasing documents <br />on behalf of the City is ratified. <br />PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its <br />passage. <br />ADOPTED this the 22nd day of July, 2015. <br />
