Ron Patterson Director of Library Stephanie Langenkamp Police Chief Larry Kendrick Director of SMEU Bob Higgs Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Also Present: Kim Adams, Collette Duran, Collete Davis, Jane Hughson, Joe Castillo, Vicki Fruit, Bob Ronson, Phil Neighbors and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced the citizen's Comment Period. David Hickman advised the Council Austin Resource Center for Independent Living has opened a branch office at 400 Hopkins for the purpose of assisting disabled persons to become active participants in the community through teaching independent living skills, peer counseling and education. No one else wished to speak. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR 26.00 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE EDWARD BURLESON SURVEY, NO. 18, A-63, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT THE WEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF IH-35 SOUTH AND CENTERPOINT ROAD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR LOTS 17-21 OF THE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT SUBDIVISION AS SHOWN ON THE PLAT RECORDED IN VOLUME 163, PAGE 160 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT 2537-2553 IH-35 SOUTH AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Gilley present at 8:00 p.m.
