Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the workshop of the San Marcos City Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, October <br />14, 2015 in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas <br />78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Council Member John Thomaides, Council Member Ryan <br />Thomason, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Jude Prather, <br />Council Member Lisa Prewitt and Council Member Jane Hughson <br />Hold discussion regarding Downtown Parking, Street Conversion and Improvements, <br />and provide direction to Staff. <br />Kevin Burke, Economic Development Coordinator, provided the Council with <br />a presentation over the Downtown Parking District. Council would like to see <br />more outreach about paid parking, back -in parking and one -way two -way <br />conversion in the downtown area. Council requested the data from the last <br />time there was paid parking downtown 20 -30 years ago relative to population, <br />usage and potential usage. Staff will look at the other Master Plans (Parks <br />Master Plan) that discusses components regarding parking and include that <br />information in the next update. Council directed Staff to use an independent <br />entity / consultant to work with Staff on the DPI and assist in the <br />implementation. Staff will provide a survey instrument to Council for their <br />review at a future meeting. <br />Rohit Vij, Transportation Engineer, provided the Council with a presentation <br />regarding the one -way two -way street conversion downtown. Staff will provide <br />analysis and scenarios without cycle tracks. The suggestion was made to look <br />at University Drive for some adjustments. Council requested for the animated <br />modeling include front in parking and two way traffic for the next update. <br />` /I.
