Call To Order <br />With u orum present, the workshop meeting of ac os City Council <br />as called to order by Mayor in <br />the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas . <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Pro -Tem John Thomaides, Council Member Jude Prather, Deputy Mayor <br />Pro Tern Lisa Prewitt, Council Member Jane Hughson, Council Member Melissa <br />Derrick and Council Member Scott Gregson <br />Absent: 1 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero <br />Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion regarding the facilities needs <br />assessment study and potential renovation, expansion, construction, and potential . <br />financing options for City facilities along with a discussion of a potential Community <br />Improvements Program Task Force, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Steve Parker, Assistant City Manager/CFO, provided the City Council with a <br />brief overview of the recent Facilities Needs Assessment Study completed by <br />PGAL. Chris Ruebush of PGAL provided the Council with a presentation of <br />options from the Facilities Needs Assessment Study. Staff will look into options <br />of more permeable surfaces for sites, specifically the Public Services areas. <br />Following discussion the Council provided direction to move forward with the <br />creation of a Community Improvements Program Task Force and to evaluate <br />a113 options that were provided. <br />Steve Parker, Assistant City Manager /CFO and Chase Stapp, Chief of Police, <br />provided the Council with an overview of the renovations that would need to <br />take place at the Police Department. Following discussion the Council <br />provided direction to move forward with the proposed renovations and to fund <br />it with Certificates of Obligation Bonds and not have the Task Force look at it. <br />Jared Miller, City Manager, will bring back a list of recommended people to <br />serve on the Community Improvements Program Task Force for the Council to <br />ratify and will send out an email requesting proposed individuals to Council. <br />Staff will also provide the total cost of repairs to City Hall over time and the <br />cost of a pedestrian bridge to extend over Hopkins Street. <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
