RESOLUTION 2017-68R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SENSUS WATER <br /> METERS AS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR THE PUBLIC <br /> SERVICES DEPARTMENT, WATER/WASTEWATER UTILITIES <br /> DIVISION FROM AQUA METRIC SALES COMPANY IN THE <br /> ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $2,388,261.00; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> INTERIM CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE <br /> APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE <br /> CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. Section 252.022 (7) of the Texas Local Government Code permits a limited exemption <br /> from the competitive bidding process if the items to be purchased are available from only one <br /> source. <br /> 2. The City considers the Sensus Water Meters (the "Meters") to be a sole source <br /> procurement based on the City's maintenance requirements for compatibility and <br /> interchangeability of the Meters with existing inventory in conjunction with the Automated <br /> Meter Implementation System. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The sole source procurement of Sensus Water Meters for the Public <br /> Services Department, Water/Wastewater Utilities Division from Aqua Metric Sales Company in <br /> the estimated amount of$2,388,261.00 is approved. <br /> PART 2. The Interim City Mangager or his designee is authorized to execute the <br /> appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3.
