RESOLUTION 2009- 107R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF AN EXISTING CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY FROM JASON GROTE DB/A CORRIDOR CAB TO WILLIAM KENNON, FOR THE PROVISION OF TAXICAB SERVICES IN SAN MARCOS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. On August 18, 2009, the San Marcos City Council held a public hearing regarding a transfer of an existing Taxicab Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from Jason Grote, d/b/a Corridor Cab to William Kennon, for the provision of taxicab services in the City. 2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the City Council finds and determines that the applicant meets the requirements of Chapter 90, Article 3 of the San Marcos City Code pertaining to the issuance of a taxicab business certificate of convenience and necessity have been met by the applicant. • 3. The City Council finds that this taxicab business is required to adequately serve the public convenience and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing and able to operate ataxi business and to conform to the provisions of City ordinances. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The transfer of an existing Taxicab Business Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from Jason Grote d/b/a Corridor Cab to William Kennon, is hereby approved. PART 2. The City Clerk, Sherry Mashburn, is directed to issue a Taxicab Business Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to William Kennon, upon the City Attorney's review and approval of proof of liability insurance coverage for the company.
