Ernest Hernandez stated he <br />has concerns with the recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Bond Committee regarding the <br />San Marcos Parkway Project #4, Gravel Street. Some concerns stated were drainage, economic <br />factors for Senior Citizens and Dunbar in the Historic District. He stated he would like to <br />preserve peace and tranquility in that area and encouraged the Council to study the figures before <br />making any decisions on these proposals. Mary Gonzales thanked Mr. Hernandez for attending a <br />meeting regarding the relocation of lli-35 homes for residents on Gravel Street. She stated she <br />was not pleased with the process of the Blue Ribbon Committee regarding the public hearings on <br />the project. She felt there was no sensitivity in their recommendations and would like to preserve <br />the Historic District and Gravel Street. Mayor Moore stated staff was preparing some feasibility <br />studies and monetary numbers so Council can make a decision that will best serve the entire <br />community. Mike Stanley, KIND Radio, stated they received several calls regarding the <br />concerns with Gravel Street and felt the Council needs to view this proposal a little more and be <br />discussed with the public. He stated there would be polluted water and trash headed straight to <br />the river. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of a board appointment to the Airport <br />Commission. Mr. Cox moved to appoint Jon Younger, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. Mr. Mihalkanin made a motion to move Shannon Weiss to represent <br />the Downtown District. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Jene Laman as the ArtJDesign <br />Representative and Mr. Hart moved to appoint Hill Rylander to the At-large position, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />* Mr. Guerra present at 8:35 p.m. <br />** Ms. Womack not present at this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />--- <br />
