ORDINANCE NO. 2018-53 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS INCREASING THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 30 MILES <br /> PER HOUR TO 35 MILES PER HOUR ALONG THE SECTION OF <br /> HUNTER ROAD BETWEEN WONDER WORLD DRIVE (RM 12) AND <br /> WEST SAN ANTONIO STREET; AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION <br /> OF SIGNS AND TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES REFLECTING SUCH <br /> NEW SPEED LIMIT; DIRECTING THAT THE TRAFFIC REGISTER <br /> MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY <br /> CODE BE AMENDED TO REFLECT SUCH NEW SPEED LIMIT; AND, <br /> INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. Pursuant to Chapter 82 of the San Marcos City Code, and on the basis of <br /> finding that an increased speed limit is reasonable and prudent, the speed limit along Hunter Road <br /> between Wonder World Drive (RN! 12) and West San Antonio Street is hereby increased from 30 <br /> miles per hour to 35 miles per hour. <br /> SECTION 2. The City's traffic engineer is authorized to install such signs and traffic <br /> control devices as he deems appropriate reflecting such new speed limit. <br /> i <br /> SECTION 3. The traffic engineer is directed to amend the traffic register maintained <br /> under section 82.067 of the San Marcos City Code to reflect such new speed limit. <br /> SECTION 4. If any word, phrase,clause, sentence,or paragraph of this ordinance is held <br /> to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this <br /> ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. <br /> SECTION 5. All ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in <br /> conflict with this ordinance are repealed. <br /> SECTION 6.
