MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 18, 2001 PRESENT: Mayor David Chiu Mayor Pro-Tern Deputy Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Jane Hughson Joe B. Cox, Jr. Ed Mihalkanin Jacob Montoya Paul Mayhew Martha Castex Tatum City Manager Deputy City Manager City Clerk City Attorney Director of Planning and Dev. Servs. Larry Gilley Laura Huffman Janis K. Womack Mark Taylor Ron Patterson Also Present: Dianne Wassenich, Tom Wassenich, Terry Morgan, Sherri Russell and others. Mayor Chili called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Chiu introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government Code, Section 551.071, to seek the City Attorney's advice regarding pending litigation, contemplated litigation or other matters (Gary vs. City of San Marcos; proposed Edwards Aquifer Ordinance revisions). Ms. Tatum moved to adjourn into Executive Session at 6:05 p.m. and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to reconvene at 7:28 p.m. and Mr. Montoya seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of motion directing the Staff to publish notice of the City Council's intent to consider adoption of revisions to the Edwards Aquifer Protection Ordinance, and a takings impact assessment regarding the proposed revisions. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval to publish the notice and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Montoya and seconded by Ms. Hughson.
