RESOLUTION NO. 2019-137R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS SUPPORTING THE CITY'S APPLICATION TO THE <br />TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />FUNDING OF THE HOPKINS STREET/STATE HIGHWAY 80 SHARED <br />USE PATH PROJECT UNDER TXDOT'S TRANSPORTATION <br />ALTERNATIVES SET-ASIDE (TASA) PROGRAM CALL FOR PROJECTS; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) issued a call for projects for <br />communities to apply for funding assistance through the Transportation Alternatives Set -Aside <br />(TASA) Program. <br />2. The TASA funds may be used for construction of pedestrian and/or bicycle infrastructure. <br />The TASA funds require a local match comprised of cash plus in-kind contributions, if any. As the <br />Project Sponsor, the Local Government would be responsible for all non -reimbursable costs and <br />100 percent of overruns, if any, for TASA funds. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council supports funding the Hopkins Street/State Highway 80 Shared <br />Use Path Project as described in the City's TASA Detailed Application (including the construction <br />budget, TxDOT's administrative cost, and the required local match, if any) and is willing to commit <br />to the project's development, implementation, construction, maintenance, management, and <br />financing. <br />PART 2. The City Council is willing and able to authorize, by resolution or ordinance, an <br />Advance Funding Agreement with TxDOT for the project should the project be selected for funding. <br />PART 3.
