RESOLUTION NO. 2020-97R <br />RESOLUTION DELAYING ACTION ON AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />ISSUANCE OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS COMBINATION TAX AND <br />LIMITED REVENUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED $50,500,000; <br />AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS ' <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS ' <br />COUNTY OF HAYS, CALDWELL & GUADALUPE ' <br />WHEREAS, on March 17, 2020, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas (the <br />"City") passed a resolution authorizing the publication of a notice of intent (the "Notice <br />Resolution") to issue City of San Marcos, Texas Combination Tax and Limited Revenue <br />Certificates of Obligation in a maximum principal amount not to exceed $50,500,000 (the <br />"Certificates"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Notice Resolution stated that the City Council tentatively proposed to <br />authorize the issuance of the Certificates and to hold a public hearing on the Certificates at its <br />regular meeting of the City Council to commence at 6:00 p.m. on May 5, 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the advice of the City's staff, the City finds it necessary to delay action <br />on the ordinance authorizing the issuance of the Certificates until a regular meeting of the City <br />Council to commence at 6:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS THAT: <br />Section 1. Delaying Action. The City hereby delays action on the ordinance <br />authorizing the issuance of the Certificates and the public hearing on the Certificates until a regular <br />meeting of the City Council to commence at 6:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020 at its regular meeting <br />place in the City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas. <br />Section 2. Other Matters. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />adoption. The Mayor and City Secretary are hereby authorized and directed to execute the <br />certificate to which this Resolution is attached on behalf of the City and to do any and all things <br />proper and necessary to carry out the intent of this Resolution. <br />San Marcos CO: Delay Resolution <br />
